Rotenstein AD 1390
Historical festival at Red Stone Castle
Historický festival na hrade Červený Kameň
Hrad Červený Kameň, Častá village (Bratislava region)
Red Stone Castle (Hrad Červený Kameň) is situated in southwestern Slovakia, in the Little Carpathians, near the village of Častá. A stone castle was built in the 13th century as part of the chain of country frontier defense castles ranging from Bratislava to Žilina. This castle was completely rebuilt as a fortress in the first half of the 16th century, and became a representative noble castle of Pálffy family who owned it from 1588 until the Second World War.
The Historical Festival “Rotenstein 1390” is held every year in the Red Stone Castle, offering two days of history, entertainment and learning. The event program includes spectacular battle demonstrations, fighting and fencing displays and theatre performances. The visitors can discover in the medieval camps daily life and culture of the Middle Ages, experience and try traditional crafts and cuisine. The magical atmosphere of the past is completed by dance and music shows.
