Dance of the Seasons
Customs, Traditions, and Beliefs from the Cycle of the Year
“I know no subject more elevating, more amazing,
more ready to the poetical enthusiasm, the philosophical reflection, and the moral sentiment
than the works of nature. Where can we meet such variety, such beauty, such magnificence?”
James Thomson (1700-1748), Scottish poet and playwright
Welcome! Thank You for visiting this section of the Folklore portal on the Historia Vivens Web. The Cycle of the Seasons and Nature, as well as that of Human Life, turns like a wheel, renewing itself through the eternity of time. The time cycle of the year is marked by the revolution of the earth around the sun, and divided into four seasons corresponding to the four phases of the sun and the moon.
The "Dance of the Seasons" will accompany You in a meaningful and charming ride along the flowing of the year towards a different way to live the unfolding of the seasons and to taste every breathe of Nature by looking at it with new but ancient eyes, the eyes of our ancestors, when Nature was the protagonist, the key element of the daily life, everything around looked enchanting and magic, and the human life itself was flowing in harmony with the renewal of Nature, and the rhythm of the work on the land.
