In many countries Holy Thursday is marked by special beliefs and traditions. It is the day before the Holy Passion Days, and all works and Easter preparations, including Easter dishes, are to be finished on Thursday. In some countries it is also called Clean Thursday, as the house should be cleaned, and all washing should be done on this day. This way no works or house activities distract the faithful from the solemn remembrance of the Christ’s Passion and Resurrection, and from holy prayers.
